In My Mailbox

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. You can learn more about it here.

No vlog this week, partly because I only got one 'real' book, and partly because my throat is really sore - I hope I'm not getting another cold!

I got a couple of ebooks for review this week. First was 'Island of Icarus' by Christine Danse from Carina Press on net galley. It's set roughly in Victorian times, and is about a man who gets shipwrecked. I also got an e-arc of Wilder's Mate, by Moira Rogers, which is about a Hound (a bit like a typical werewolf, but not quite) and a girl who go to try and rescue someone, and have to learn to work together on the way. I've read this now and I really enjoyed it, so I'll be posting my review nearer to the release date.
I also got this:

Rivers of London, by Ben Aaronovitch

I've heard lots of good things about this, but I didn't really know what it was about. So when I saw it the other day, I read the blurb, and thought it sounded really cool, but it was hardback, and harbacks are expensive. Then yesterday, I didn't have anything to read on the train home from London, so I gave up and bought it anyway :-) (It's also a signed copy, which helped convince me - I think signed copies are cool.) I'm loving it so far, and I'm sure I'll be posting my review soon.

Round up of the week:

This is something new I want to start doing, just to collect together links for what we've posted this week at The Book Bundle.
So: Emily reviews Hands of Isis
And I reviewed The Fallen Blade

What did you get in your mailboxes this week?

Hmm, looks interesting. I haven't heard of this one before, but I looked up a couple of reviews, which dropped the words "urban fantasy" and mentioned Neil Gaimen's Neverwhere, so I'd love to hear more -- I'll have to check back and see if you review it.

My IMM is here:

Looks certainly interesting! I have to get myself an e-reader (I'm just not sure yet what will work for me here in Sweden) so that I can start reading more e-books and galleys!
Happy Reading!

Mystica - thanks for stopping by! It's always nice to see new people comment :) I'll try and post a review soon - either later this week or early next week.

TheBookHour - I know, I love e-arcs!

Litte Wonder Lauren - I'll try and post the review this week/early next week. Your challenge looks interesting!

Queen N - I don't have an e-reader, I just read things on my Mac :-) I have Adobe Digital Editions, which was free to download and otherwise I just have PDFs :-)

Slowest Bookworm - I'll try and post a review later this week - it's a fantasy, and the writing is very funny :-)

Lu - thanks for stopping by!

Sarah - I know! Isn't it fun?

Jenny - thanks, I'll try and post the review later this week.

Lauren - they are, I'll hopefully get my Island of Icarus review up this week, and I'll put up the one for Wilder's Mate closer to the release.
